1. Who we are
Welcome to Metrix. We operate through three websites — metrix.com.au, app.metrix.com.au & amusement.metrix.com.au. You’ll see us referred to as “Metrix” or “Metrix Australia” across this policy.
Metrix offers services that let you share information, communicate with others, and create content. Your privacy matters. This policy explains:
- What information we collect, and why we collect it.
- How we use the information we collect.
- The choices and control you have over your information.
- Our data retention and deletion practices.
We’ve kept this as straightforward as we can. If you’re unfamiliar with terms like cookies, IP addresses, or browsers, take a moment to look them up. If you have questions, contact us.
2. What personal data we collect & why
When you create an account, modify your profile, set preferences, or purchase through our services, we collect information about you. We also collect data streams, files, and documentation generated within Metrix services to support functionality and improve the user experience. Information we collect may be processed using analytic techniques designed to protect your privacy.
Within our software, we use a combination of hashing, scrubbing, and encryption to protect your data. Administrative users may sometimes access information; we are transparent about that access (see Permissions below).
The information we collect includes:
- Asset information. Asset-specific details such as logs, asset activity, and documentation.
- User information. Contact details, activity within our software, and documentation.
- Report information. Where you use location-enabled Metrix services, we may collect and process information about your location, such as GPS signals from mobile devices or sensor data.
- Training information. Administrative users may request log information from time to time, including results, activity, and other certification information.
- Unique identifiers. We use technologies that collect and store information; we apply hashed values to protect your privacy where possible.
3. Permissions
Administrative users may access your account activity, reports, and information. They may use that access to improve your profile, update information, and support your use of the service. Metrix does not assume responsibility for any errors or consequences arising from administrative actions taken at your or your organisation’s direction.
4. Media
If you upload images and media to our products, avoid including images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS).
5. Documentation
When you register for our services and software, we apply internal methods for documentation control and internal communication. This documentation may include your licence agreement, acceptance of terms and conditions, and similar records. Where we use third-party providers for payment processing, your payment information is subject to the relevant provider’s privacy policy (for example, Stripe, Xero).
6. Cookies
We set cookies to remember your login state and screen-display preferences. We also use analytics and advertising cookies — including Google (Analytics & Ads) and Meta (Facebook) — to measure how the site performs and to improve our advertising. You can turn analytics and advertising cookies off at any time using the cookie settings link in our footer; essential cookies remain.
7. Embedded content from other websites
Articles in our software may include embedded content (videos, images, articles) that behaves the same way as visiting other websites would. The embedding site may collect data about you under its own privacy practices.
8. Analytics
We collect feedback directly from the product and apply analytics techniques designed to preserve data privacy while improving our services and user experience. On our marketing website we use Google Analytics, Google Ads, and the Meta (Facebook) pixel and Conversions API. When you submit a form, we may share a securely hashed (irreversible) version of your email and name with Google and Meta to measure advertising performance and improve targeting — never your raw details, and never the content of your enquiry. This runs under an opt-out model: it is on by default and you can disable analytics and advertising tracking at any time via the cookie settings link in our footer.
9. Who we share your data with
We may receive information about you from other service users, third-party services, related companies, social media platforms, public databases, and business partners. This information may be combined with data we’ve collected for various purposes.
Examples of third parties we may share information with:
- Organisation administrators — to support service delivery and organisational needs.
- Channel partners — for collaboration on service delivery.
- Industry organisations — to support industry-specific requirements and standards.
We do not share your private service information with third-party partners without written consent or your explicit instruction.
10. Your rights over your data
If you have an account with us, you can:
- Access and receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request the erasure of personal data we hold about you, except data we are obliged to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
To exercise either right, contact our Privacy Officer.
11. Data security
We treat data security as a first-class concern and apply controls designed to protect your information. Full detail is in our Security Policy.
12. International data transfers
We use servers located in multiple regions to keep the service reliable. We also work with organisations and channel partners across Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, and the Philippines, among others. We adhere to international data-transfer standards. For more, see our Security Policy.
